PHOENIX (May 26, 2017)—Phoenix Rising FC (3-4-0) continues its run of league road games with a trip to Southern California this Saturday, May 27, to face Los Angeles Galaxy II (2-5-2) at the StubHub Center Track and Field Stadium at 7:30 p.m.

Fans can watch the match live locally on YurView Arizona Cox Channels 7 & 1007 (HD) or online at PHXRisingFC.com. Fans can also head to the club’s official watch party at the Thirsty Lion Gastropub & Grill in Tempe Marketplace (2000 East Rio Salado Parkway #1041, Tempe, AZ 85281).

The game will be the first rematch of 2017 for Phoenix Rising FC, as they will aim to take three points off Galaxy II for the second time this season; Rising FC collected their first win of the year over Galaxy II with a 2-1 victory back on April 8th at the Phoenix Rising Soccer Complex.

Luke Rooney scored both of Rising FC’s goals that night in the come-from-behind triumph. However, with the midfielder has been shelved for the rest of the year with a knee injury. Fellow midfielder Alessandro Riggi will also miss out on Saturday night’s contest with a knee injury of his own, though he is slated return to action within a couple weeks’ time.

Rising FC opened their stretch of three consecutive away games in the USL with a 1-0 loss to San Antonio FC last Saturday, as a 12th-minute goal from San Antonio forward Akwafei Ajeakwa was enough to lift the Western Conference leaders to their 8th win of the season. The loss was Phoenix’s first since May 6th, snapping a two-game unbeaten run in all competitions.

Meanwhile, LA Galaxy II enter this week’s game on a two-match unbeaten streak of their own; after a 2-1 win in New Jersey over New York Red Bulls II on May 14th, Galaxy II used a 72nd minute goal from forward Justin Dhillon to secure a 1-1 road draw against Rio Grande Valley FC last Saturday.

Los Dos are led offensively by Dhillon, Ethan Zubak, and Adonis Amaya, with all three forwards accounting for two goals apiece in 2017. Amaya scored LA’s lone goal in their loss to Phoenix Rising FC back in April.

Phoenix Rising FC and LA Galaxy II are no strangers, as Saturday’s meeting will be the 12th all game time between the two sides. The series has proven to be competitive as well, with Rising FC owning a 4-5-2 record against Los Dos. However, the club hasn’t won a game at Galaxy II since August 9th, 2015, as they lost both away meetings last season. The two sides haven’t drawn a game since June 21st, 2014.
