Tampa Bay Rowdies news and notes

  • Current record: 6-3-2, 20pts

  • The Rowdies fell 1-0 to the Rochester Rhinos on Wednesday night in the USL Game of the Week on ESPN3 at Capelli Sport Stadium to go 1-1-0 in their two-game road trip.

  • The defeat was only the second time this season the Rowdies had been held scoreless, and kept the side in second place in the USL’s Eastern Conference standings.

  • Tampa Bay has won five of its six home games this season, with the lone defeat coming to conference leader the Charleston Battery.

  • The Rowdies will be without center back Damion Lowe in Saturday’s game after he received his fifth yellow card of the season against Rochester.

Saint Louis FC news and notes

  • Current record: 3-3-2, 11pts

  • Saint Louis is looking to rebound from a 1-0 defeat to the Charleston Battery two weeks ago, which extended the side’s winless streak to four games.

  • STLFC has scored only once in its current slide, which has dropped the team just outside the Eastern Conference playoff positions in ninth place.

  • Jose Angulo and Christian Volesky are tied for the team-lead with three goals apiece, but Volesky’s last goal came on April 12 against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in the team’s most recent victory.

  • Saint Louis will head to Michigan following Saturday’s game to take on the Premier Development League’s Michigan Bucks in the Third Round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Tuesday night at 8 p.m. ET.
