Reno looks to build on momentum as third-place Seattle visits

RENO, Nev. – Reno 1868 FC will look to build on the momentum of wins in the league and the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup when it hosts Seattle Sounders FC 2 at Greater Nevada Field on Saturday night, with S2 entering in third place in the USL Western Conference. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. PT.

Reno 1868 FC news and notes

  • Current record: 1-3-2, 5pts
     
  • Reno is coming off its first league win in club history two weeks ago as it routed Phoenix Rising FC 4-0 at the Phoenix Rising Soccer Complex.
     
  • Jamaican forward Dane Kelly had the first hat trick in club history in the win, and was named the USL Player of the Week as he reached 53 career goals in the USL.
     
  • 1868 FC advanced in past OSA FC in the Second Round of the 2017 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday night as it won in a shootout at Starfire Stadium just outside Seattle.
     
  • Reno will visit Sacramento Republic FC in the Third Round on May 31, with the winner getting to play host to Major League Soccer’s Real Salt Lake in the Fourth Round.

  • Seattle earned a 0-0 draw against current Western Conference leaders San Antonio FC last Saturday night in front of 8,005 fans at Toyota Field.
     
  • S2 became the first team to hold San Antonio FC scoreless this season as it extended its undefeated streak to three games.
  • Irvin Parra and Felix Chenkam are tied for the team-high with three goals apiece, while Parra has also created 11 chances this season.
