SAN ANTONIO – USL Western Conference leader San Antonio FC welcomes Phoenix Rising FC to Toyota Field on Saturday night looking to extend its undefeated start to the season to double-digits against a Rising FC side that is coming off a big win last weekend. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CT.

San Antonio FC news and notes

  • Current record: 7-0-2, 23pts

  • San Antonio FC played to a 0-0 draw with Seattle Sounders FC 2 last Saturday night in front of 8,005 fans at Toyota Field to extend its undefeated streak to nine games.

  • The game marked the first time SAFC had been held scoreless in a contest this season, after scoring 19 goals in its first eight games.

  • San Antonio earned a 2-1 victory on the road against Dutch Lions FC in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday night as Victor Araujo and Aly Hassan found the net.

  • SAFC will visit Tulsa Roughnecks FC in the Third Round of the Open Cup on May 31, and would host defending Open Cup champion FC Dallas at Toyota Field should it take victory.

Phoenix Rising FC news and notes

  • Phoenix earned its third win it its past four games in dramatic fashion last Saturday night as it defeated OKC Energy FC 2-1 in front of 6,251 fans at Phoenix Rising Soccer Complex.

  • Shaun Wright-Phillips’ scored in the fifth minute of second-half stoppage time to lift Rising FC to victory, with the tally marking his first goal for the club.

  • Rising FC also took victory on the road in the Open Cup on Wednesday night as it claimed a 3-1 victory against the PDL’s Fresno Fuego.

  • Kody Wakasa, Eric Avila and Mike Seth all found the net in the victory, which earned Rising FC a home game with the San Francisco Deltas in the Third Round.
