WFC2 looks to break losing streak as Switchbacks visit

VANCOUVER, B.C. – Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 returns home looking to end its first two-game losing streak of the season when it plays host to Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC at Thunderbird Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. PT.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 news and notes

  • Current record: 2-4-2, 8pts

  • Vancouver suffered a second consecutive loss on Thursday night when it fell 3-1 to Tulsa Roughnecks FC at ONEOK Field.

  • Gloire Amanda scored his first professional goal in the contest for WFC2, but the visitors were unable to overcome a two-goal halftime deficit against the Roughnecks.

  • WFC2 didn’t record a losing streak of longer than two games at any point in the 2016 regular season as the club reached the postseason.

  • Vancouver will close out the month of May with two home contests, with the second on May 28 against Real Monarchs SLC at McLeod Athletic Park.

Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC news and notes

  • Current record: 3-2-4, 13pts

  • The Switchbacks earned a 0-0 draw against the Portland Timbers 2 on Wednesday afternoon to move into third place in the Western Conference.

  • Colorado Springs has earned four points from its past two games, and has lost only once in its past five outings.

  • Sunday’s game is the second of a three-game road swing for the Switchbacks in league action, as they side will visit Real Monarchs SLC next Saturday to conclude the trip.

  • The Switchbacks will be on home turf on Wednesday night, however, as they host the PDL’s FC Tucson in the Second Round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup at 8 p.m. MT.
