Phoenix Rising FC news and notes

  • Current record: 2-3-0, 9pts

  • Rising FC saw its two-game winning streak end last Saturday as Reno 1868 FC earned a 4-0 victory at Phoenix Rising Soccer Complex behind a hat trick by Dane Kelly.

  • Phoenix had chances to get back into the game after falling two goals behind inside the opening 10 minutes, but finished with only two shots on targets.

  • Didier Drogba was available for selection for the first time last Saturday since signing with Rising FC, but was not included in the game day squad for the side.

  • Phoenix will travel to play the PDL’s Fresno Fuego in the Second Round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday night.

OKC Energy FC news and notes

  • Current record: 1-3-1, 4pts

  • Energy FC fell 3-0 to Rio Grande Valley FC in its last outing on April 29 at H-E-B Park, leaving the side in 13th place in the USL’s Western Conference.

  • OKC re-acquired forward Andy Craven in a trade this week with FC Cincinnati, with Danni König joining FCC as the other part of the deal.

  • Craven will not be available on Saturday night as he still has to serve three remaining games of a suspension from a red card against Bethlehem Steel FC for Cincinnati.

  • Energy FC’s Miguel Gonzalez will record his 10th assist all-time in the USL with his next helper this season.
