Roughnecks look to add to first victory this week as Orange County visits

TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa Roughnecks FC will look to build on a big midweek victory when it hosts Orange County SC at ONEOK Field on Saturday night, with the visitors also coming off a big win of their own in their home opener last weekend. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT.

Tulsa Roughnecks FC news and notes

  • Current record: 3-3-0, 9pts

  • The Roughnecks took a 3-1 victory against Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 on Thursday night to open a big week for the side at ONEOK Field.

  • Ian Svantesson scored twice, while Juan Caffa had a goal and assist to lead the team to its third victory of the season.

  • Caffa created six scoring chances in addition to his assist against Vancouver, with the veteran Argentinian playmaker having had a major impact since his arrival in Tulsa.

  • The Roughnecks have recorded their third win of the season in just their sixth game this year, compared to their 15th in the 2016 season.

Orange County SC news and notes

  • Current record: 3-1-1, 10pts

  • Orange County hosted a home opener to remember last Saturday as it opened its new venue at Orange County Great Park with a 4-0 win against the LA Galaxy II.

  • Jerry van Ewijk had two goals and an assist in the victory, and was named to the USL Team of the Week for his performance this past Tuesday.

  • Orange County now sits sixth in the USL’s Western Conference, and has games in hand on all of the teams ahead of it in the standings.

  • Goalkeeper Charlie Lyon has recorded 15 saves in five games this season, recording a pair of shutouts.
