Red Bulls II aim for revenge as City Islanders visit for second time

HARRISON, N.J. – The New York Red Bulls II will be looking for some revenge when the Harrisburg City Islanders visit MSU Soccer Park on Saturday evening, with the City Islanders having taken victory when the two sides met for the first time this season on April 5. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. ET.

New York Red Bulls II news and notes

  • Current record: 2-2-2, 8pts

  • The Red Bulls II played to a 2-2 draw with the Rochester Rhinos in their last outing, as a goal by the Rhinos in stoppage time denied New York its first regular-season win against Rochester.

  • New York’s Vincent Bezecourt found the net for the fifth time this season against Rochester. The French midfielder will equal his regular-season total from 2016 with his next goal.

  • The Red Bulls II have won both of their games at MSU Soccer Park this season, defeating the Richmond Kickers and Orlando City B at the club’s new home.

  • Goalkeeper Evan Louro was signed to an MLS contract with the Red Bulls last Saturday. Louro has made four appearances this season, and was the Week 4 winner of the USL Fans’ Choice Save of the Week.

  • The City Islanders fell 1-0 to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds last Saturday at Highmark Stadium in the first Keystone Derby Cup clash of the 2017 season.

  • Harrisburg had been on a three-game undefeated streak prior to its loss in Pittsburgh, and currently sits in 10th place in the USL Eastern Conference.

  • The City Islanders took a 1-0 win against New York at Red Bull Arena on April 5 when the sides first met as former Red Bulls II loanee Manolo Sanchez scored the only goal of the game.

  • Harrisburg will be without defender Abass Mohamed and goalkeeper Brandon Miller through suspension, with Miller being sent off following the conclusion of last Saturday’s game in Pittsburgh.
