Cascadia rivals meet for the second time this season at Starfire

TUKWILA, Wash. – Seattle Sounders FC 2 and the Portland Timbers 2 will meet for the second time this season at Starfire Stadium on Friday night with S2 looking to build on a big road victory and T2 hoping to bounce back from its heaviest defeat of the season so far. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. PT.

Seattle Sounders FC 2 news and notes

  • Current record: 3-4-0, 9pts

  • Seattle earned a 3-2 victory on the road against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC this past Saturday, handing the Switchbacks their first home defeat of the season.

  • Felix Chenkam scored twice for S2 in the win, and on Tuesday was named to the USL Team of the Week for his performance.

  • S2 rallied to take a 2-1 victory when the teams met on April 2 as goals two minutes apart by Seyi Adekoya and Zach Mathers earned the victory.

  • Seattle ranks fifth in the USL with 87 shots this season, but also leads the league with 15 goals against in seven outings.

Portland Timbers 2 news and notes

  • Current record: 1-6-0, 3pts

  • Portland suffered a 4-0 defeat against San Antonio FC last Friday night at Providence Park as it recorded only one shot on target despite holding 72 percent of possession.

  • The defeat was the first for T2 this season that came by more than one goal, as the side conceded four goals for the first time since a 4-0 loss to Sacramento on Aug. 20, 2016.

  • Midfielder Andre Lewis leads the USL with 441 attempted passes this season, and holds an accuracy rate of 89.3 percent.

  • Villyan Bijev leads T2 with 10 chances created this season, but has yet to record an assist after leading the league in that category a season ago.
