Multi-national car manufacturer becomes club’s first jersey sponsor

NASHVILLE – Nashville Soccer Club announced on Wednesday it had added Nissan as a founding partner and the club’s first jersey sponsor.

Nissan has strong ties to Nashville with its North American headquarters in Franklin, Tenn., its vehicle and battery assembly plant in Smyrna, Tenn., and powertrain plant in Decherd, Tenn., employing more than 12,000 in the area.

“Nissan is the perfect fit for our first jersey sponsor. The company is a pillar of the Middle Tennessee community and an iconic, global brand recognized for its commitment to the game of soccer,” said Court Jeske, CEO of Nashville SC. “Nissan’s reputation as an innovative, global brand is one we aspire to build at this club. We look forward to working together to grow the sport while engaging the community.”

Nashville SC is the most recent addition to Nissan’s global soccer portfolio, which includes partnerships with UEFA Champions League and the English Premier League’s Manchester City, as well as sponsorship of the Mexican National Team’s U.S. Tour.

Nissan will make its first in-game appearance on the jerseys of the Nashville SC U23 on May 6, when the club begins play in the Premier Development League.
