The I-405 Derby returns as familiar faces suit up for Orange County

CARSON, Calif. – The LA Galaxy II and Orange County SC will renew their rivalry in the I-405 Derby on Saturday night at StubHub Center Track and Field Stadium, with a pair of familiar faces set to take the field for the visitors. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. PT.

LA Galaxy II news and notes

  • Current record: 1-3-0, 3pts

  • The LA Galaxy II was unable to rally from an early deficit as it fell for a third straight game in a 2-1 loss against Seattle Sounders FC 2.

  • Los Dos didn’t lose three games in succession during the 2016 USL regular season, with it last occurring late in the 2015 season.

  • Ethan Zubak has scored twice this season, and notched Los Dos’ goal against Seattle on his 19th birthday.

  • The Galaxy II are currently tied for second in the USL with 12 yellow cards this season, with defenders Hugo Arellano and Andre Zanga having earned two apiece.

  • Orange County is coming off a 2-1 victory against the Portland Timbers 2 that saw Victor Pineda score the winner two weeks ago.

  • Pineda’s goal was voted the USL Goal of the Week for Week 3 of the season, as his long-range blast highlighted another strong all-around performance.

  • OC will have a pair of former Galaxy II players in its ranks on Saturday, with Joe Franco and Oscar Sorto both set to face off against their former club.

  • Orange County has averaged 329 passes completed per game so far this season, a shade higher than LA’s rate of 307.
