Reno returns home in search of first win as Switchbacks visit

RENO, Nev. – Reno 1868 FC will again try to claim its first win in club history on Saturday night when it plays host to Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC at Greater Nevada Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. PT.

Reno 1868 FC news and notes

  • Current record: 0-3-1, 1pt

  • Reno fell 4-0 to undefeated San Antonio FC last Saturday night to conclude a two-game road trip that saw the side conceded nine goals.

  • 1868 FC had the majority of possession (54 percent) and recorded 12 shots for the game, but was unable to find a way past SAFC goalkeeper Matt Cardone, who recorded a five-save shutout.

  • Reno ranks eighth in the USL with 58 shots so far this season, but has scored only four goals so far in its debut year.

  • The Switchbacks are coming off a 2-1 victory against Rocky Mountain rivals Real Monarchs SLC at Weidner Field, which saw the hosts hand the Monarchs their first loss of the season.

  • Masta Kacher and Aaron King both scored their second goals of the season, while Colorado Springs’ defense stood firm late to secure a valuable three points.

  • Colorado Springs has had difficulties holding possession this season, and sits at an average of just 41 percent possession so far this season.

  • Cameroonian goalkeeper Moise Pouaty made his debut for the Switchbacks against the Monarchs, and recorded four saves to preserve the victory.
