Toros look to continue rise as Roughnecks visit H-E-B Park

EDINBURG, Texas – Rio Grande Valley FC will try to build on a two-game winning streak, and also agin a little revenge, as it plays host to Tulsa Roughnecks FC at H-E-B Park on Saturday night. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CT.

  • Rio Grande Valley is coming off back-to-back victories after earning a 3-1 win against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC last Wednesday night.

  • Memo Rodriguez scored twice, including the game-winner, while Camilo Monroy added his first for the club to lead the Toros to victory.

  • Charlie Ward has continued his ironman streak from a season ago, and has now played the full 90 minutes in 34 consecutive regular season contests.

  • Ward currently sits fourth in the league with 282 passes, and has a completion percentage of 90.1 percent, including four created chances this season.

Tulsa Roughnecks FC news and notes

  • The Roughnecks had a bye week after falling 2-1 to Sacramento Republic FC in their last outing on April 8 at ONEOK Field.

  • Tulsa is set to have Chicago Fire loanee Collin Fernandez return to the lineup after his return from a U.S. U20 training camp in London earlier this month.

  • Goalkeeper Bryan Byars has recorded 13 saves over the past two contests, and recorded a shutout when the Roughnecks and Toros met for the first time this season.
