Roughnecks welcome Republic FC, Ochoa to ONEOK Field

TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa Roughnecks FC and Sacramento Republic FC will both look to continue their good starts to the new season when they meet on Saturday night at ONEOK Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT.

Tulsa Roughnecks FC news and notes

  • Current record: 1-1-0, 3pts

  • The Roughnecks earned a 1-0 victory against Rio Grande Valley FC last Saturday night as Joey Calistri scored his first goal for the club on loan from the Chicago Fire.

  • Goalkeeper Bryan Byars recorded eight saves to earn his first shutout as a professional in the victory.

  • Tulsa is set to be without midfielder Collin Fernandez, who was named to this week’s U.S. U20 National Team camp in London. Fernandez completed 83 percent of 37 passes against RGVFC.

  • The Roughnecks will hit the road for the first time next weekend when they visit Rio Grande Valley FC at H-E-B Park.

Sacramento Republic FC news and notes

  • Current record: 2-0-0, 6pts

  • Republic FC took a 4-0 victory against Orange County SC last Saturday night to earn its second consecutive victory to start the season.

  • Sacramento holds the longest current regular-season undefeated streak in the USL, having gone 13 games without defeat since a 2-1 loss to Vancouver on July 24, 2016.

  • Saturday’s game will see the return of Sammy Ochoa to Tulsa, where the veteran forward recorded 20 goals in two seasons for the Roughnecks in 2015-16.

  • Ochoa scored twice in Sacramento’s victory against Orange County, and was named to the USL Team of the Week alongside teammate Wilson Kneeshaw.

  • Sacramento has taken victory in all three regular-season meetings between the clubs, including a 4-0 win at ONEOK Field on the final weekend of the 2016 regular season.
