OKLAHOMA CITY – OKC Energy FC saw four different players score in the second half as it took a 5-0 victory against Houston Baptist University in a preseason match on Saturday afternoon at Moore High School.

Goals by Miguel Gonzalez, Jose Barril, Luis Martinez and Danni König, along with a Houston Baptist own goal, led OKC to the fifth win of its 2017 preseason campaign and an overall record of 5-1-1.

After a scoreless first half, OKC took the lead three minutes into the second half when Wojciech Wojcik found Gonzalez on the left side of the HBU box, and Gonzalez maneuvered around a defender and rolled shot into the open side of the Huskies net.

Twenty minutes later, Martinez grabbed a loose ball at the top of the Huskies penalty area and blasted a shot past HBU keeper Chance Pope to increase Energy FC’s lead.

A handball in the Huskies penalty area saw Energy FC awarded a penalty kick in the 79th minute, which Barril converted. Three minutes later, König netted his first goal of the 2017 preseason to make it 4-0.

In the final minute of play, Martinez sent a cross into the HBU box from the left corner that glanced off Huskies defender Felipe Zanolli and past Pope rounding out the scoring.

Energy FC’s final preseason match is a noon CST start on Saturday, March 18, at Oklahoma City University, with OKC taking on the University of Nebraska Omaha.
