Home opener against Saint Louis FC set for April 15 at Nippert Stadium

CINCINNATI – FC Cincinnati announced on Wednesday morning the club had surpassed 11,000 Season Ticket Members for the 2017 USL season, a little over a month before its home opener against Saint Louis FC at Nippert Stadium on Saturday, April 15. The number marks a sharp increase from the club’s inaugural season, when it surpassed 6,000 Season Ticket Members, with the club having the chance to double that number prior to its first home game of the season.

FCC set both single-game and single-season attendance records in its inaugural season in the USL, welcoming 259,437 fans – an average of 17,296 per game – in the regular season. Cincinnati’s large attendances were mirrored by rising attendances elsewhere within the USL, with Colorado Springs, Louisville, OKC and Richmond all seeing continued rises in attendance as the league’s overall attendance rose by 33 percent in the 2016 season.

Cincinnati also welcomed a crowd of 30,187 to its inaugural USL Cup Playoffs contest against the Charleston Battery, which set a USL single-game attendance record.

Cincinnati also saw 35,061 attend its international exhibition with the Premier League’s Crystal Palace FC, which helped push the club’s overall attendance well past 300,000 in its first year. Cincinnati’s average attendance placed it 16th among all clubs in North America in 2016.
