TORONTO – Toronto FC II announced on Tuesday that the club has signed former Saint Louis FC goalkeeper Mark Pais.

“Improving our defensive group for TFC II has been a top priority for us as we head into the 2017 USL regular season,” said Toronto FC II Head Coach Jason Bent. “Mark worked hard throughout the preseason with both the first team and Toronto FC II and will continue to train with both teams. Mark has been a welcome addition to the club and we are pleased to finalize the deal.”

The 25-year-old Pais spent the past two seasons with the USL’s Saint Louis FC, where he made 33 regular-season appearances, recording 92 saves and a 1.64 goals-against average.

During his college career, he split time between the University of Tulsa and Saint Louis University. With the Saint Louis Billikens, he appeared in 19 matches and recorded five shutouts in 15 starts. He then transferred to the University of Tulsa and recorded eight shutouts in 21 matches for the Golden Hurricane.
