RENO, Nev. – Reno 1868 FC announced on Monday it had signed Forward Cameron Vickers, pending league and federation approval. Vickers, 28, has more than four years of professional soccer experience.

“Cameron is very technical,” said 1868 FC Head Coach Ian Russell. “He’s a player that’s dynamic and creative in the attacking third.”

Vickers played for the Harrisburg City Islanders in the United Soccer League last year. With the Islanders, he made seven appearances and scored one goal. The Auburn, Washington native began his career with the Tacoma Tide of the Premier Development League (PDL) in 2008, where he made 45 appearances and found the net six times. In 2012 he moved to the Portland Timbers U23 side where he scored four times in 15 appearances.

Vickers first appeared in the USL in 2013 with Phoenix FC scoring once in 15 appearances before returning to the PDL to play for Dayton Dutch Lions FC in 2014. The forward was signed by Arizona United SC before the start of the 2015 season. After his time with Arizona, Vickers played in New Zealand with Lower Hutt City AFC for a short stint.

Vickers played college soccer at Sonoma State University from 2008-2010 where he made 68 appearances and tallied ten goals. Vickers assisted the Seawolves in both league victories in 2008 and 2010.
