SAN JUAN, Costa Rica – The United States U20s face their biggest rivals to open the second stage of the 2017 CONCACAF U20 Championship on Monday night when Mexico is the opponent at the Estadio Ricardo Saprissa. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. ET.

United States news and notes
The United States earned a 4-1 victory against St. Kitts & Nevis on Friday evening to secure a place in the second stage of the tournament as former Real Monarchs SLC loanee Sebastian Saucedo scored twice.
Brooks Lennon also found the net in the contest, and now sits second in the tournament with four goals in three games after his hat trick against Haiti.
The top two teams from the three-team group will advance to the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup in South Korea, with El Salvador the third member of the group. The group winner will advance to the CU20CRC’s final.
The United States and El Salvador will meet on March 3 at the Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica, with El Salvador set to square off on March 1 against Mexico.
Mexico news and notes
Mexico finished top of Group A with a 3-0-0 record after taking a 1-0 victory against Honduras in its final group game on Thursday evening.
The side has been led offensively by Santos Laguna’s Ronaldo Cisneros, who has a tournament-high five goals and has scored in each of the side’s opening three contests.
Mexico has yet to concede a goal in the tournament, with goalkeeper Fernando Hernandez recording shutouts against Antigua & Barbuda and Canada, and Jose Hernandez against Honduras.
Mexico has won the CONCACAF U20 Championship a record 13 times, and is aiming for its fourth consecutive title at the tournament this year.
