SAN ANTONIO – The era of online customization has been around for a while now, but on Friday San Antonio FC gave it a new twist, asking fans to design a new pair of Nike Hypervenom 3’s for one of the club’s players to wear in the upcoming USL season.

The Hypervenom 3 was released last month, the latest addition to Nike’s high-performance soccer line. Fans are asked to design their own custom version of the boot at the Nike website, and then submit photos using the hastags #Hypervenon and #OurClub on the club’s social media channels.

The winning design will earn its creator a pair of the boots, which will also be worn by one of San Antonio FC’s players over the course of this season.

Some fans have already gotten to work, with some eye-catching designs already appearing after the contest’s launch.
