United States news and notes
The United States rallied to take a 4-1 victory against Haiti on Tuesday evening as Real Salt Lake’s Brooks Lennon recorded a hat trick to move the side into second place in Group B.
Haiti took the lead through Kenley Dede, but Lennon’s equalizer from the penalty spot evened the score before halftime, and then three goals in a six-minute span saw the U.S. pull away for victory.
Former Charleston Battery loanee Jeremy Ebobisse recorded an assist on Lennon’s second goal, and had a solid all-around performance as he looks for his first goal of the tournament.
The U.S. will know the result it needs to advance to the second stage at kickoff, with the game between Panama and Haiti preceding it at 3 p.m. ET.
