DURHAM, N.C. – The Pittsburgh Riverhounds capped off a strong preseason swing in North Carolina with a 2-0 victory against Duke University on Sunday afternoon at the Blue Devils' Athletic Field Complex. Kevin Kerr and Stephen Okai both found the net to give the Riverhounds their first win of the preseason.

After a scoreless first half, the Hounds struck quickly after the break with two goals in the span of three minutes to secure the lead for good. Kerr notched the first tally with a nice finish in the penalty area in the 53rd minute. Okai followed that effort with a goal off an indirect free kick in the penalty area in the 55th minute.

The Hounds had another trialist debut with the club, as Brad Ruhaak became the fourth to appear so far this preseason. Guy Ballo, Ben Bedoya and Hayden Partain also played for the second consecutive contest. Ruhaak previously played at the University of Akron, where he was a teammate of current Hounds midfielder Victor Souto for three seasons.

The Hounds now return home for two preseason matches next weekend. First up will be the University of Akron at Highmark Stadium at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday, Feb. 25. Pittsburgh will then play Duquesne University the following day at the Allegheny Health Network Sports Complex at Cool Springs at 8 a.m. ET.
