LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The LA Galaxy II announced on Tuesday the signing of defender Robert Castellanos. The 18-year-old joins Los Dos from Liga MX side Atlas FC, where he signed in August, 2016, and will be officially added to the team’s roster pending the receipt of an International Transfer Certificate (ITC).
"We are excited to add Robert to our roster," LA Galaxy II Head Coach Mike Muñoz said. "He will continue to develop as a member of Galaxy II and we look forward to the contributions we believe he can make to this club."
Castellanos, of Palmdale, Calif, has spent time in the USYNT system, most recently being called in for U-20 training camp in July, 2016. Prior to signing with Atlas, Castellanos was a member of U.S. Soccer Developmental Academy side Nomads SC.
Los Dos will kick off the 2017 campaign at StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium on Saturday, March 25 when they host Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2. LA Galaxy II single game tickets will go on sale tomorrow, in addition to the announcement of kickoff times.
