Final addition to FCC squad prior to preseason trip to IMG Academy

CINCINNATI – FC Cincinnati announced on Monday it has signed veteran forward Baye Djiby Fall to round out the club’s off-season signings prior its preseason trip to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. The signing is pending league and federation approval.

“We are looking forward to having Djiby join the FCC squad this season,” said FCC Head Coach John Harkes. “He brings a great deal of international experience and will provide a strong presence in front of the goal. Scoring goals is an art form and we are thrilled that in Djiby, we have a player who is hungry to score.”

Fall, who stands 6-foot-1, joins FCC after playing with FC Irtysh Pavlodar in the Kazakhstan Premier League last year, during which time he scored two goals. A veteran on the international scene, Fall had previously spent a year with Turkish side, Karsiyaka SK, two seasons with Danish club Randers FC where he began his European career, as well as two years with German club, Gruether Furth with several additional stops in Belgium, Russia and Norway.

Voted the Player of the Year in Denmark in 2007 and 2009, Fall garnered an identical accolade in 2010 in Norway, where he had one of his most productive seasons. Loaned out to Norwegian club Molde FK, and playing in the top division, Fall led the Tippeligaen in goals with 16 in 28 appearances.

Fall was born in Thiès, Senegal and made two appearances for the national team in 2009. He played youth soccer with Auxerre’s academy in France.
