Youmeni, Dikwa arrive at club from fabled Montverde Academy

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando City B announced on Thursday it had signed left back Jules Youmeni and forward Albert Dikwa, both former members of the Soccer Institute at Montverde Academy (SIMA), pending receipt of their P1 visas and league and federation approval.

Youmeni, 18, has played for SIMA since 2013. The Bafoussam, Cameroon, native has made five youth international appearances with Cameroon, three with the U15 national team and two with the U17s. In 2013, Youmeni was voted the Best Left Fullback in the Littoral Regional League in Cameroon and also featured in the African U-17 Championship Eliminatory.

“Youmeni is equally comfortable at right or left back. He has two great feet, is very quick and defends 1v1 situations very well,” OCB Head Coach Anthony Pulis said. “He has a fantastic mentality and has potential to grow into a very good player.”

Dikwa also joins OCB from SIMA, where he has played since 2014. The versatile 19-year-old striker is known for his strong technical ability and ball control and can play as a striker and a winger. The Garoua, Cameroon, native has made six appearances for the Cameroon U20 national team.

“Dikwa is a striker who leads the line well. He has excellent speed, good movement and has a good goalscoring record,” Pulis said. “Like Youmeni, he’s very hungry to learn and improve. We’re really excited to work with him and help him develop.”

The two countrymen enjoyed great success in their time at SIMA. They helped Montverde build a national record 157-match unbeaten streak and capture each of the past six Montverde Academy Soccer Tournament titles.
