Former standout USL forward Kyle Greig was on the scoresheet for Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Monday afternoon as the MLS side took a 4-0 victory against Oxford United FC in a preseason exhibition as part of the club’s preseason camp in Wales.

Greig made more than 100 appearances in the USL over the past four seasons, and led Whitecaps FC 2 with 11 goals in 27 appearances a season ago to lead the side to its first appearance in the USL Cup Playoffs. Greig added a pair of goals in the postseason as WFC2 reached the Western Conference Final, and was signed to an MLS contract this offseason alongside goalkeeper Spencer Richey.

On Monday, he showed off his finishing skills again as he notched the third goal in the Whitecaps’ win against the English League 1 outfit. Cristian Techera began the move as he released Daniel Lovitz down the left, and his low cross was met by a clinical finish by Greig.

The Whitecaps kick off the 2017 MLS regular season on Sunday, March 5 at home to the Philadelphia Union. WFC2 will visit the LA Galaxy II on Saturday, March 25 to open the 2017 USL regular season, with the side set to welcome Seattle Sounders FC 2 on April 8.
