Colorado Springs, CO (January 24, 2017) – The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC officially announced today the signing of former Bodens BK (Sweden) Captain, Eddy Prugh. The signing is pending league and USSF approval.

Prugh joins the Switchbacks having spent the past three seasons with Bodens BK of Sweden. Prugh appeared in 70 matches for the Swedish club during his tenure and tallied 26 goals. He became the captain of the club in just his second season with the team. Prugh was also nominated for the Unibet.com League Midfielder of the Year and a finalist for the Kurirenbollen, the award for best player in the North of Sweden.

“Eddy is a player we are excited about to bring in,” said Head Coach Steve Trittschuh of Prugh. “He has had success with Bodens BK in Sweden. He is a fantastic two way player that will help solidify the center of midfield for us. I expect him to contribute a lot this season..”

Prior to his time with Bodens BK, Prugh was part of the Portland Timbers U-23 squad after his college career where he spent time at Whitworth (Washington) and Oregon State before graduating from Marshall University. Prugh was a two-time first Team All-State selection in Montana at Bozeman Senior High where he was a four year member of the varsity team and a three time State Cup runner-up.

“I’m so happy to be back in the Rockies and in Colorado which I’ve also seen as a strong soccer state,” said Prugh on joining the Switchbacks. “I can’t wait to meet up with the guys and Coach [Steve] Trittschuh and continue to build the winning culture that they’ve had over the last two seasons.”
