The 19-year-old signed with OCB after scoring three goals in seven appearances for Orlando City’s U-17/18 Development Academy team in 2016. Most recently, Gallardo helped Orlando’s U-17/18s rise to No. 1 in the country with a hat trick in a 5-3 win against Weston FC.

The San Diego, Calif., native has appeared with the U.S. U-15, U-17 and U-19 national teams. Gallardo notched four goals and three assists in 2014 with the U.S. U-17 squad. Gallardo previously spent time with Mexican side Monterrey’s academy.

“We think Joe will play a big role on our team this season,” Orlando City SC General Manager Niki Budalic said. “Joe has excelled at each level he’s played at.
