OKLAHOMA CITY – OKC Energy FC announced on Tuesday it has signed center back Mickey Daly for the new season.  The contract is pending league and federation approval.

A member of Sacramento Republic FC’s USL Cup-winning side in 2014, Daly brings four seasons of professional experience to Energy FC. Daly opened the 2016 season with Bethlehem Steel FC, before spending time on loan with the Carolina RailHawks. He appeared in 34 games between the two clubs, scored one goal and logged 2,733 minutes.

“Mickey is a player we’ve had our eyes on for the last couple of seasons,” said Energy FC Head Coach Jimmy Nielsen. “He has all the skills to be a great center back.  Good person.  Good leader in the locker room.  Due to his successes in the past, he has a winning mentality that will make him a good fit for our club.  With the addition of Daly, we have three top quality center backs.”

Daly began his professional career with Wilmington Hammerheads FC in 2013 after two successful seasons in the PDL with the Ventura County Fusion and collegiately with Cal State Los Angeles. He then returned to California to join Republic FC for its inaugural season and made 66 appearances for the side over two seasons, scoring six goals.

Daly is the latest addition to Energy FC’s defense for the new season, joining Sam Fink, Richard Dixon, and David Diosa.
