FENTON, Mo. – Saint Louis FC announced on Thursday it had agreed to a contract with midfielder Dragan Stojkov, pending league and federation approval.

“Dragan is a competitive player that will be a quality addition to our already strong midfield,” said STLFC Head Coach Preki. “We are excited about him contributing both mentally and physically to the squad with his work rate.”

Stojkov was born in Strumica, Macedonia and played for local club FK Belasica during the 2006-2007 seasons. He made 35 appearances, scored three goals and added two assists before moving to Egaleo FC in the Greek league. Stojkov made 36 appearances and scored two goals during the 2008-2009 seasons in Greece. In 2009, Stojkov moved to FK Napredak Krusevac in the Serbian first division before joining FK Jagodina in the same league the following season. Stojkov amassed 72 appearances and tallied four assists from 2009-2013 in the Serbian league. He also made four appearances in the UEFA Europa League during his time with the club.

In 2014, Stojkov joined the LA Galaxy II in the USL, making 19 appearances and scoring one goal en route to a semifinal finish in the playoffs that season. He then joined Indy Eleven for the 2015 season, making 21 appearances and contributing one assist.

“With his experience in the league and abroad, we are adding another versatile player with good professional experience,” said STLFC General Manager Jeremy Alumbaugh.
