HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Harrisburg City Islanders announced on Thursday the return of midfielder Paul Wilson for the 2017 USL season. The Jamaican will enter the second year of his two-year contract with the club.

Wilson's first year with the Harrisburg City Islanders was also his first in the USL. He scored the City Islanders’ first home goal of the season against Louisville,  and went on to finish with four goals and six assists, which put him second on the team to Jose Barril.

"I remember scoring my first goal for the Islanders,” Wilson said. “It was against Louisville City...at home. I remember when coach came to me and said, 'I want to see if you'll be the first Islander player to score on the Island.' And I said, 'Hopefully'."

Wilson’s 28 appearances saw him log 1,816 minutes of action. Harrisburg Head Coach Bill Becher said he was pleased to have the 23-year-old returning to build on a successful first year with the club.

"Paul had a great first year with us,” said Becher. “He was huge at the beginning of the season especially with putting up points, scoring goals and getting assists. He's the kind of guy that makes everyone around him better. He comes to training every day to work hard and he wants to improve himself and the team. We're excited to have Paul back."
