ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Rochester Rhinos announced on Friday the club had exercised contract options on 10 players from its 2016 squad, including USL Golden Glove winner Tomas Gomez and All-League selections Kenardo Forbes and Joe Farrell.

Gomez claimed the USL Golden Glove as he posted a goals-against average of 0.69 in 16 regular-season appearances for the club. A finalist for the USL Goalkeeper of the Year award, the former Georgetown University standout had spent the 2015 season with the San Jose Earthquakes before joining the Rhinos prior to this season.

Farrell was also a finalist for a USL Award, being nominated for USL Rookie of the Year after a standout season that saw him also be named to the USL All-League Second Team. The center back appeared in 29 game for the Rhinos, and notched five goals and one assist as his nose for goal proved useful on set pieces.

Forbes, who was also named to the USL All-League Second Team and earned the Rhinos’ MVP honors, will return for his third season with the Rhinos after recording three goals and four assists as he appeared in every game of the 2016 USL regular season. A USL Cup winner with the Rhinos in 2015, the Jamaican finished second behind Farrell in minutes this past season.

Other players set to return include defender Wal Fall, who scored two goals in two games in the 2016 USL Cup Playoffs, and team captain Mike Garzi. Goalkeeper Daniel Lynd, defenders Bradley Kamdem, midfielders Brandon Beresford, Mike James and Sofiane Tergou are also set to return to Rochester for the new season.
