HARRISON, N.J. – One notable name missing from the New York Red Bulls II’s lineup on Sunday in the Eastern Conference Final of the 2016 USL Cup Playoffs was that of fullback Noah Powder.

As discovered by SBNation.com’s Once a Metro, there was a simple explanation, with Powder having been called up by Trinidad & Tobago’s U20 National Team for Caribbean qualifying for the 2017 CONCACAF U20 Championship in Curacao this month.

Powder will also miss this Sunday’s 2016 USL Cup Final, Presented by Nike, against the Swope Park Rangers, with Trinidad & Tobago set to kick off its campaign on Saturday night against Cuba. The Soca Warriors will also face St. Lucia (Oct. 24) and Haiti (Oct. 26), with the top two teams in the group set to both advance to the semifinals, and also earn a place at the 2017 CONCACAF U20 Championship next February, which also serves as qualification for the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup.

Powder made 18 appearances as an Academy signing for the Red Bulls II this season, recording 1,051 minutes of action as he scored twice in the club’s USL Regular Season Championship-clinching victory against the Harrisburg City Islanders on September 7.
