Rangers, WFC2 meet on Saturday night for the Western Conference Championship

The No. 4-seed Swope Park Rangers and No. 6-seed Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 will take aim at their first USL Western Conference Championship on Saturday night as SPR hosts WFC2 at Children’s Mercy Victory Field. Both sides enter with double-digit goal-scorers, both of whom will be looking to continue their hot streaks to lead their respective teams in the 2016 USL Cup Final, Presented by Nike.

Swope Park’s Mark Anthony Gonzalez had an outstanding rookie season in Kansas City, as the Canadian youngster claimed the Rangers’ Offensive Player of the Year award with nine goal and four assists in the regular season. Gonzalez is now tied for the league-high with three goals in two postseason games, and will be a dangerous customer for WFC2’s defense as the Rangers aim to continue an outstanding inaugural season.

WFC2 signed Kyle Greig this offseason to bring veteran experience to its young squad, and his leadership has proved invaluable to lead his side to its first postseason appearance, and a pair of victories over the past two weekends. Greig led Vancouver with 11 goals in the regular season – putting him tied for eighth in the USL – and has scored two goals in two games to move WFC2 one step away from the USL Cup Final.

Which player do you think will lead his side to victory in the Western Conference Final?
