Midfielder's long-distance strike earned 45 percent of the online fan vote

The USL Goal of the Month title is staying in Montreal after Jimmy Sanon's long-distance screamer earned 45 percent of an online fan vote to be named the top goal of September.

A previous Fans' Choice Goal of the Week selection, Sanon's strike was the difference in a 2-1 victory over playoff-bound Charleston on Sept. 7. The native Canadian's FC Montreal teammate Louis Béland-Goyette took home Goal of the Month honors for August, and the two young midfielders join four FC Cincinnati representatives in USL Golden Boot winner Sean Okoli (April), Andrew Wiedeman (May), Eric Stevenson (June) and Omar Cummings (July) that have assured themselves entry into the end-of-year Goal of the Year competition.

USL Assists Champion Villyan Bijev of Portland Timbers 2 and Kris Tyrpak, whose Swope Park Rangers side is still alive in the #USLPlayoffs following a thrilling win over OC Blues FC, tied for second place in September's competition - each garnering 18 percent of the vote.
