ST. JOHN’S, Antigua – Charleston Battery defender Quinton Griffith has been named in Antigua & Barbuda’s squad for this week’s final stage of CFU Caribbean Cup Qualifying, with the country set to face Curacao and Puerto Rico in its three-team group. The team that finishes top of the group will earn automatic qualification to the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Griffith could square off against three USL opponents in the Benna Boyz’s clash with Puerto Rico, with OKC Energy FC’s Cody Laurendi, Sacramento Republic FC’s Jeremy Hall and San Antonio FC’s Manolo Sanchez all named in Puerto Rico’s squad.

The 24-year-old Griffith is in his fourth season with the Battery, and made 26 appearances for the side in this past regular season to finish third on the team with 2,237 minutes of action. Griffith also played the full 90 minutes on Sunday as the Battery took a 2-1 win on the road against FC Cincinnati in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals of the 2016 USL Cup Playoffs, but will now be unavailable for Saturday’s Conference Semifinal against Louisville City FC.

Antigua & Barbuda will open group play on the road on Wednesday, Oct. 5 against Curacao before facing Puerto Rico on Saturday, Oct. 8. at the Antigua Recreation Ground in St. John’s. Puerto Rico and Curacao will then conclude the group’s action in Puerto Rico on Tuesday, Oct. 11.
