TULSA, Okla. – Sacramento Republic FC had no problems finishing the 2016 USL regular season with a win, earning a 3-0 victory against Tulsa Roughnecks FC at ONEOK Field on Saturday. Mackenzie Pridham, Cameron Iwasa, Daniel Barrera and Harry Williams all scored to help Republic FC secure its seventh road win of the year ahead of the Western Conference Quarterfinals of the 2016 USL Playoffs. Bryce Taylor had one of the best opportunities to score for the home side, but his powerful header flew just wide of the goal in the 77th minute. With the win, Republic FC finishes the 2016 regular season with a 14-6-10 record. The Roughnecks finish 5-21-4, with three of their wins coming at home.

Scoring:
10’ – SAC – Mackenzie Pridham (James Kiffe)
19’ – SAC – Cameron Iwasa
35’ – SAC – Daniel Barrera
90’+ – SAC – Harry Williams (Daniel Trickett-Smith)

Three Things That Mattered:

  • 1. A total team effort saw Republic FC improve its road record to 7-3-5. Whether it was Elliot Hord making defensive stops, James Kiffe sending inch-perfect crosses into the box or Daniel Barrera firing in a sublime effort, everything went Republic FC’s way on Saturday. The offense generated multiple opportunities throughout the evening, and four different players scored to rout the Roughnecks. Barrera, who has typically been the provider for Republic FC this campaign, netted the goal of the game in the 35th minute, bending a free-kick opportunity up and over the Roughnekcs' wall.

  • 2. Goalkeeper Hunter Harrison made his professional debut for the Roughnecks on Saturday, replacing starter Jake Feener at halftime. The 20-year-old netminder from Oral Roberts University performed well in the few moments he was called upon to make a play. In the 55th minute, Harrison stopped an attack down the left by diving to prevent a pass across the six-yard box. He then made a key save in the 68th minute, pushing a lofted shot off the crossbar.

  • 3. Republic FC enters the USL Playoffs riding an 11-game unbeaten run, which includes six shutouts. While Pridham, Iwasa, Barrera, Williams and the rest of Republic FC’s attack were creating chance after chance throughout the 90 minutes, the club also kept the Roughnecks attack at bay. The home side was not able to generate many scoring opportunities, with one of their best efforts unfolding from a corner kick in the 77th minute of play. Republic FC finishes the regular season having conceded 27 goals in 30 games.
