Galaxy II’s Payeras Named to Guatemala Squad

Defender will join team for World Cup Qualifiers against Trinidad & Tobago, St. Vincent & the Grenadines

CARSON, Calif. – LA Galaxy II defender Jeffrey Payeras has been named in Guatemala’s squad for the country’s two upcoming World Cup Qualifiers against Trinidad & Tobago and St. Vincent & the Grenadinez this week.

Payeras recently made his debut for Guatemala in a 0-0 draw against Panama in an international exhibition against Panama on August 10. The 22-year-old has made 22 appearances for Los Dos this season, recording one goal as he sits sixth on the team in minutes with 1,440.

Guatemala will visit Trinidad & Tobago, which includes a trio of USL players in its squad, on Friday night at Hasely Crawford Stadium, Port of Spain before hosting St. Vincent & the Grenadines and Seattle Sounders FC 2’s Myron Samuel on Tuesday, Sept. 6 at the Estadio Mateo Flores in Guatemala City.
