Will join Soca Warriors for World Cup Qualifiers against Guatemala, United States

Orange County Blues FC forward Trevin Caesar and Charleston Battery midfielder Neveal Hackshaw have been named in the Trinidad & Tobago squad for the country’s upcoming CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying contests against Guatemala and the United States.

Caesar is currently tied for the team-lead for the Blues this season with seven goals in 23 appearances, as the side sits seventh in the USL’s Western Conference. The forward has scored twice for the Soca Warriors already in their qualifying campaign, and has previously recorded six appearances for his country. Caesar has scored 16 goals in his USL career, after spending the 2015 season with the Austin Aztex.

Hackshaw has made four previous appearances for Trinidad & Tobago, and has been a solid addition to the Battery’s squad this season with 19 appearances for the side as it pursues a sixth consecutive berth in the USL Playoffs.

The duo join Louisville City FC goalkeeper Greg Ranjitsingh, who earned his first call-up to the squad after his strong season with Louisville this season. Also named to the squad is two-time USL Most Valuable Player Kevin Molino of Orlando City SC, who has recorded nine goals and seven assists for the Lions in Major League Soccer this season.

Trinidad & Tobago will host Guatemala at Hasely Crawford Stadium, Port of Spain on Friday, Sept. 2 before closing out the stage by facing the United States at EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Fla. on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

The Soca Warriors currently lead Group C with 10 points, with the United States sitting with 7 and Guatemala with 6. A win or draw against Guatemala would ensure the side advances to the final stage of CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying.
