FENTON, Mo. – Saint Louis FC has announced goalkeeper Ryan Thompson will join the Jamaican National Team for its two upcoming CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying games against Panama and Haiti.

Thompson is the second player from STLFC’s squad to be called up for the upcoming qualifying window, with El Salvador forward Irvin Herrera also named to his country’s squad to face Mexico and Canada. Both players will miss Saint Louis’ games against OKC Energy FC on Aug. 31 and FC Cincinnati on Sept. 5.

Thompson has made seven appearances for the Reggae Boyz in his career, and served as a backup to the Philadelphia Union’s Andre Blake during the recent 2016 Copa America Centenario held in the United States. His most notable international achievement saw him help Jamaica reach the final of the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup, the deepest run the country had ever made in the tournament.

This season, Thompson has made seven appearances for STLFC, recording a 1.43 goals-against average and .737 save percentage. He previously played in the USL for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in the 2015 season, where he made 10 appearances during the season.
