Red Bulls II look to extend lead at top of East in visit to Ontario Soccer Centre

VAUGHN, Ontario – The New York Red Bulls II will try to extend their lead at the top of the USL Eastern Conference when they visit Toronto FC II on Wednesday evening at the Ontario Soccer Centre. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. ET.

Toronto FC II news and notes

  • Current record: 6-14-5, 23pts
  • Toronto was edged out in its last outing as the Harrisburg City Islanders took a 1-0 victory at the Ontario Soccer Centre on July 14.
  • TFC II is now nine points out of the eighth and final playoff berth in the Eastern Conference with five games remaining in the regular season.
  • Toronto is coming off back-to-back defeats for the first time since the start of July after going 3-2-1 over the course of August.
  • TFC II’s 46 goals against are the most of any side in the Eastern Conference, with the side having conceded 31 of those goals in the second half.

  • The Red Bulls II became the first side to clinch a berth in the 2016 USL Playoffs on Friday night with a 1-0 victory against Louisville City FC.

  • The Red Bulls II are the first side to reach 50 points this season, and have a clear lead in the race for the USL regular season championship.
