FENTON, Mo. – Saint Louis FC announced on Monday morning Head Coach Dale Schilly had been relieved of head coaching duties and Assistant Coach Tim Leonard has been named interim head coach for the remainder of the season.

Schilly had been the team’s head coach since it joined the USL prior to the 2015 season, and posted a record of 16-21-16 in all competitions. This past Saturday, Saint Louis suffered a 4-3 defeat to Sacramento Republic FC at World Wide Technology Soccer Park that left the side in 10th place in the USL’s Western Conference.

"We're expecting this move to energize the team and give us the push necessary to reach the playoffs," said Saint Louis General Manager Jeremy Alumbaugh. "We have high expectations for this team and the results over the recent string of games necessitated this change.”

Saint Louis has struggled since the start of July, going 1-4-3 over that span to fall out of the playoff positions in the Western Conference. The side faces regional rival the Swope Park Rangers this Sunday at Children’s Mercy Victory Field in its next contest.
