CARSON, Calif. – LA Galaxy II defender Jeffrey Payeras has earned his first selection the Guatemala National Team for the squad’s upcoming international exhibition against Panama on August 10.

Payeras joined the Galaxy II this preseason, and has made 18 appearances for the side in the center of defense this season. The 22-year-old scored his first goal for Los Dos in the team’s 2-2 draw with Tulsa Roughnecks FC on June 17.

Payeras had previously played in the USL for Orange County Blues FC last season, as he recorded a pair of assists in nine appearances for the club. A native of Hawthorne, Calif., Payeras qualifies to play for Guatemala through his parents, and has previously represented the country at the U23 level.
