Red Bulls II look to claim top spot as they visit Harrisburg

HARRISBURG, Pa. – The New York Red Bulls II will try to rebound from a dramatic late defeat and take top spot in the Eastern Conference on Tuesday night when they visit a Harrisburg City Islanders side fighting for its playoff life at FNB Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.

Harrisburg City Islanders news and notes

  • Current record: 6-13-3, 21pts
  • The City Islanders remained undefeated in their last three contests on Friday night as Brett Jankouskas scored a stoppage-time equalizer in a 1-1 draw with the Rochester Rhinos.
  • The goal was Jankouskas’ second in as many games, after he had scored the winner in a 1-0 win against Bethlehem Steel FC on July 21.
  • The draw saw Harrisburg drop seven points back of the eighth and final playoff position in the Eastern Conference, with eight games remaining in their regular season.

  • The Red Bulls II suffered their first road defeat of the season on Saturday night as they fell 2-1 to the Richmond Kickers at City Stadium.
  • New York took the lead against the Kickers on Brandon Allen’s ninth goal of the season, but the Kickers rallied, and grabbed victory in stoppage time for their fourth consecutive win.
  • The Red Bulls II would move top of the Eastern Conference with a win on Tuesday night, as they enter one point behind Louisville City FC.
  • New York is first in the USL in total shots with 263, and second with 110 shots on goal this season.
