CHICAGO – OKC Energy FC loanee Coy Craft and Real Monarchs SLC loanee Danilo Acosta have been named to the U.S. U20 Men’s National Team squad that convenes on Saturday in Basking Ridge, N.J. for a camp that concludes on August 8.
Craft – who this week was ranked No. 11 in the inaugural USL 20 Under 20 – is tied for the team-lead with three goals this season for Energy FC on loan from the club’s MLS partner FC Dallas. Craft also appeared this week in the Chipotle MLS Homegrown Game at Avaya Stadium.
Acosta also appeared for the MLS Homegrown side on Wednesday night, and has made 13 appearances for the Monarchs over the past two seasons. One other player with USL ties named in the squad is Marcello Borges, who played as an Academy signing for the New York Red Bulls II last season before heading to the University of Michigan.
The U.S. will play two scrimmages during their time in camp, facing the New York Cosmos on August 3 and the New York Red Bulls II – who currently sit second in the USL’s Eastern Conference – on August 7.
