WILMINGTON, N.C. — Wilmington Hammerheads FC announced on Thursday the club had acquired Saint Louis FC forward Jermie Lynch on loan for the remainder of the 2016 USL season.

“He will be a great asset for us,” said Hammerheads Coach Mark Briggs. “He has a proven record in the USL for scoring goals. I’m excited to integrate him with the squad for the rest of the season.”

Lynch finished tied for the team-high with four goals a season ago in 17 appearances for Saint Louis, but this season has been limited to only six appearances for the club. A Jamaican international, Lynch scored the first goal in the club’s history against Tulsa Roughnecks FC at ONEOK Field on April 2, 2015.

“I’m really happy to be here in Wilmington with the Hammerheads,” said Lynch. “I come here with one intention, and that is to help this team win games; whether I am scoring goals or creating opportunities.”

The Hammerheads currently sit in 10th place in the USL’s Eastern Conference, one point back of the eighth and final playoff berth held currently by Orlando City B. The Hammerheads host the Pittsburgh Riverhounds on Saturday night at Legion Stadium, with Lynch eager to get going for the side.
“I had a long discussion with Coach Briggs and his assistant coach and their overall plan attracted me to Wilmington,” Lynch said. “The energy from the team projects nothing but greatness and I can’t wait to play my first game with them.”
