Toros’ new stadium will be named H-E-B Park under naming rights agreement

EDINBURG, Texas – Rio Grande Valley FC announced on Thursday morning a major partnership with San Antonio-based supermarket chain H-E-B for the naming rights of the club’s soccer-specific stadium. The 9,700-seat venue will be named H-E-B Park when the Toros take the field for the first time in their state-of-the-art facility.

H-E-B Park will be a leader in the USL in stadium infrastructure, with amenities including a full-service restaurant and concessions, a park with a playground, an amphitheater with a capacity for 2,000 individuals, practice fields, executive lounges, a sports bar, and 33 suites. Suites include VIP amenities and a 16-seat capacity. H-E-B Park will be the host of top of the line professional soccer, musical concerts, high school sporting events, and other forms of entertainment.

“H-E-B Park in Edinburg is a premier facility and we’re thrilled to have naming rights for the stadium,” said Linda Tovar, H-E-B Senior Manager of Public Affairs. “H-E-B is proud to celebrate the growing options for families both in our stores and out in the community. We are committed to the Rio Grande Valley, and this branding opportunity demonstrates the excitement and energy we share for the bright future of the Valley.”

More than 1.3 million people call the four counties that make up the Rio Grande Valley home. Edinburg is the third-largest city in the RGV and serves as the county seat for Hidalgo County. H-E-B Park and all its amenities will enable the park to be a staple as an entertainment hub in the Rio Grande Valley.

Fans will be provided an outstanding environment inside H-E-B Park. The stadium will be the first of its caliber in the Rio Grande Valley and give the community a one-of-a kind experience. H-E-B Park and its amenities aim to enhance the standard of living in Edinburg and the Rio Grande Valley.

“As an exclusive sponsor, we are honored to announce that the outdoor stadium is now called H-E-B Park,” said Tony Gonzalez, Director of Merchandising and Marketing of H-E-B. “This long-term agreement clearly demonstrates our ongoing support of the communities we service and a big win for the entire Rio Grande Valley, to include the RGV FC Toros and the Vipers Basketball team.”

The Toros will serve as the anchor tenant of H-E-B Park and will host the venue’s inaugural game upon its completion. The Toros currently sit in sixth place in the USL’s Western Conference with a record of 7-5-7, and will return to action on July 30 when it faces fellow playoff contender Sacramento Republic FC.

“We wanted a partner that is not only a brand that we all recognize, but we also wanted to make sure they have a deep commitment to the community,” said Rio Grande Valley FC Team President, Bert Garcia. “We are delighted that H-E-B has made this commitment to the RGV FC Toros, the City of Edinburg, but more importantly the Rio Grande Valley. We look to make H-E-B Park the home of affordable family entertainment.”
