Seven USL Ties Join U.S. U-20s for NTC Invite

S2’s Mansaray, Steel’s Trusty among roster to face Costa Rica, Panama and Japan

TAMPA, Fla. – Seven players with current or former USL ties have been named to the U.S. U-20 Men’s National Team roster for Head Coach Tab Ramos as the team prepares for the 2016 U-20 Men’s NTC Invitational starting Wednesday.

The United States faces Costa Rica on Wednesday (9 p.m. ET), Panama on July 1 (9 p.m. ET) and Japan on July 3 (6 p.m. ET) at U.S. Soccer’s National Training Center in Carson, Calif.

Among the 21-player roster, the front line includes Victor Mansaray, who has scored three goals this year and leads Seattle Sounders FC 2 in minutes (976), featuring in 29 games for S2 between this season and last year. FC Dallas loanee Coy Craft has posted a goal and assist in eight games for OKC Energy FC this year. Sebastian Saucedo, who now plays for Veracruz, posted two assists in seven starts for Real Monarchs SLC in 2015.

Goals from Mansaray and Craft

On the defensive side, Bethlehem Steel FC’s Auston Trusty has been called up. He has appeared in nine games and logged 810 minutes for the expansion side this year. Orlando City SC defender Tommy Redding featured for the USL club during the 2014 season, making 17 regular-season appearances that year.

Marcelo Borges and Hugo Arellano also made multiple appearances in the USL for the New York Red Bulls II and LA Galaxy II, respectively.
