Louisville looks to build lead in East as Toronto visits Slugger Field

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Louisville City FC will try to extend its lead at the top of the USL’s Eastern Conference on Tuesday night when it plays host to a Toronto FC II team that is aiming to get back into the playoff hunt at Slugger Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.

Louisville City FC news and notes

  • Current record: 9-1-4, 31 points
  • Louisville remained on top of the Eastern Conference on Saturday night as it took a 1-0 win against the Rochester Rhinos in a rematch of last season’s Eastern Conference Championship Game.
  • Andy Lubahn scored the only goal of the game for his third of the season, as Louisville took victory against Rochester for the first time in its short history.
  • Louisville is currently on a 12-game undefeated streak, which is the longest in the USL this season.
  • Tuesday night’s kickoff has been moved up by 30 minutes to avoid a conflict with the kickoff of the United States Men’s National Team’s Copa America semifinal against Argentina.

Toronto FC II news and notes

  • Current record: 3-8-4, 13 points
  • Toronto took an early lead against FC Cincinnati in its, but fell 2-1 after the hosts scored twice in the second half in front of 19,112 fans at Nippert Stadium.
  • Raheem Edwards scored the lone goal for Toronto, and in the process set a new single-season record for TFC II with his fifth goal of the season.
  • Toronto has gone 1-5-2 so far on the road this season, with its lone victory coming against Montreal on April 9.
  • TFC II has outscored opponents 8-7 in the first half this season, but has been outscored 18-9 in the second half.
