ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada – Toronto FC II forward Raheem Edwards scored his second goal in as many games for the Canada U23 National Team as the side took a 3-0 win against Grenada on Wednesday night to conclude the team’s trip to the Caribbean.

Edwards, who was named Man of the Match after recording a goal and three assists in the Canada U23s’ 5-1 win against Guyana on Sunday, recorded the opening goal against Grenada as he broke in down the right side, turned his defender and then sent a low finish through the goalkeeper’s legs late in the first half.

WFC2’s McKendry added to Canada’s lead just past the hour-mark as a deflected shot came to him, and he finished calmly. Former WFC2 forward Caleb Clarke wrapped up the scoring in the closing minutes, while FC Montreal goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau recorded the shutout.

“This trip has been an extremely valuable exercise for our national program,” Michael Findlay, the U-23 coach on this tour and current assistant coach on the Men's National Team, told CanadaSoccer.com. “The application and commitment from the whole group has been excellent; from the players to the staff, it has been very professional. This was an opportunity for our young players to learn in the right environment.”

Edwards’ teammate with Toronto FC II, Skylar Thomas took Man of the Match honors as his consistent play in the back line limited the hosts’ opportunities on goal.
